DIRECTORS (1985 - 2006)

Rev.Dr.Malcolm Ranjith (PhD)

He was the founder Director of the "Archdiocesan Centre for Human Development" started on the 21^st  October 1985. This Center took the title of Seth Sarana on the 16th August1986.

Rev.Dr.Malcolm Ranjith who was ordained the first Bishop for the Diocese of Ratnapura 1991 handed over the Directorship of "Seth Sarana" to his Assistant at the time Rev.Fr.Basil Wickremasinghe, a graduate of the Coady International Institute of the University of St.Francis Xaiver, Antigonish Nova Scotia, Canada.

Rev.Dr.Malcolm Ranjith has since been elevated to the rank of Archbishop and is currently the Secretary to the "Congregation for Divine Worship and Sacraments" in the Vatican.

Rev.Fr.Basil Wickremasinghe

During his 10 years of tenure, Seth Sarana identified 20 programmes to carry on the mission of the church in the Archdiocese, which are effective to date.

Rev.Fr.Francis Jayakody

He took over the Directorship of Seth Sarana on his return to Sri Lanka after Development studies at the Galway University - Ireland.

He held office till the end of 2005 and was replace by Fr.K.Jude Raj Fernando in February 2006.

Rev.Fr.Jude Raj Fernando

Fr. Jude did his Development Studies at the University of Galway and came back to take up the huge task of continuing the Tsunami Rehabilitation programme while also restarting and reviving all the other Programmes.  

Rev.Fr.Saman Maximus (Assistant Director)

Fr. Saman was appointed to office in 2006.
