St.Joseph Piya Sevena - Community Centre - Payagala Opening of the “St. Joseph Piya Sevana” Parish Community Hall on 28th May 2008 It was declared open & handed over by His Grace Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis Archbishop of Colombo. Large Parish Community along with other distinguished guests & The Staff of Kalutara Seth Sarana / Caritas Sub Office witnessed the occasion. Fr.Julian Tissera Dean of Kalutara District & Director of Macsri, Rev. Fr. Lester Wijesuriya, Parish Priest Payagala, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Ramanayake Asst. Director Seth Sarana Caritas Colombo, Rev. Fathers of the Deanery, Rev. Sisters, Mr. Ravi Muthukrishna & Mr. Ajith Johnpillai officials of Hopes & Y’s Men Organization (two of our generous organizations) were the few of the gathering who grace the ceremony. Rev. Fr. Ivan Petersz is the one who pioneered to make this community hall a reality. Very impressive speech delivered by His Grace the Archbishop followed by other distinguished personalities. Colourful cultural dances performed by the school children Community Centre for Tsunami Victims of Payagala was sponsored & financed by studies Centre “LA FAMIGLIA” Of Italy with Technical & Administrative support of FONDOZIONE SIPEC of Brecia, Hopes & Y’s Men’s Club of Colombo and Seth Sarana Caritas Colombo together with Tsunami Tidal Wave Fund with assistance of Diocese of Clonfert. (Ireland).
