Pallansena – Negombo

Meeting Beneficiaries, Identifying their living conditions, conducting a Needs Assessment and
arranging awareness programmes.
A Workshop on forming Community Based Organizations (CBO’s) was held on 24 March in
collaboration with the Parish Priest for Pallansena and the Human Development Committee of
Pallansena.

The programme was facilitated by the Seth Sarana Caritas Social Work Team.
The training centered around on what a CBO is and its necessity. Also, the responsibilities of the
beneficiaries, external and internal resources, activities to be undertaken and Team work.
The beneficiaries elected 30 members to represent the CBO. Training programmes are to be
organized for these persons in order to introduce their activities in the CBO.
Forty Eight beneficiary families participated which included 38 Men, 48 Women, 26 Youth and 40
children.
