Liyanawatte housing settlement - payagala

Thirty five houses built on land provided by the urban development authority (uda)

These houses were ceremonially handed over to the beneficiaries in December 2005. Drainage, infrastructure, electricity and water facilities were provided to this settlement. The drainage and sanitary pits were done by Malteser International.

The beneficiaries who were tsunami victims were selected by the Parish Priest of Payagala in consultation with the Beruwela Divisional secretariat.

HOUSING ON CHURCH LANDS

SAPARAGAMUWATTE HOUSING PROJECT - PAYAGALA

Thirty Three houses were built complete with infrastructure electricity and water facilities.

The houses were handed over on    to tsunami victims who were selected by the Parish Priest in collaboration with the Kalutara sub office animators and the Grama Niladaris of the area.

PALLIYAWATTE - PAYAGALA (ADJOINING LIYANAWATTE HOUSING SETTLEMENT)

Four houses have been handed over to beneficiaries ???????

MALWATTE HOUSING PROJECT - KALUTARA - 9 HOUSES

Eight of these houses were handed to beneficiaries who were Tsunami victims in April 2007. Electricity has been connected though the infrastructure and water connections are being attended to.

Presently water for these houses is obtained from a source nearby.

In this instance too the beneficiaries were selected by the Parish Priest in consultation with the Kalutara sub office animators and the State local authorities.

PAHALAMALWATTE HOUSING PROJECT - KALUTARA - 13 HOUSES

Twelve of these houses have been completed and one house is on going.

The houses are not tenanted as electricity and water services are yet to be connected. The infrastructure too has to be done.

??? New Housing units have been built on Beneficiary lands and ??? repairs have been carried out on tsunami damaged houses as at the end of June.
